The Son Is Born - Christmas Concert in Bromley

Bromley Community Chorale recently had a Christmas concert held in Bromley Civic Centre that was a great success. It was entitled 'The Son Is Born' and the theme was on the Christmas story: the events surrounding the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem many years ago.It was extremely well attended by more than 250 people, most of whom were from in and around Bromley and had come to hear the Community Chorale sing and also the several supporting local musicians and bands: Harry Cash and the Loose Change and Freddie's Band who did some Christmas tunes and a few other songs. The main accompaniment for the concert was done by Cantico Nuevo, an 18 piece orchestra from Spain who, along with their soloists, performed instrumentals and played for many of the songs performed by the chorale and other singers. Their skilled renditions were some of the highlights of the evening. Master of Ceremonies for the evening was the professional Travis who added a flourish to all the proceedings. The main part of the concert was of course all about the Nativity and Mary and Joseph's stories, with beautifully-done live theatrical illustrations by actors playing the parts of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and wise men. The angels were sweetly played by two of the young soloists from the chorale. This was such a well done and apt ending for the Christmas season and one that told the story of Jesus in a familiar, and accomplished way. We look forward to more from Bromley Community Chorale and especially another concert where they can continue to spread the message of Jesus in Bromley.[envira-gallery id="670877"]
